Day 1: Alice Springs to Uluru
Experience a Camel ride at the Outback Camel Farm (own expense) before cruising down to our camp near Uluru (Ayers Rock) for lunch. Afternoon hike through the 'Valley of the Winds' at Kata Tjuta (Olgas), before watching the sunset over Uluru. After an outdoor dinner, star gaze from the comfort of your 'swag' (or dome tent). (LD)
  Day 2: Uluru to Kings Canyon
Witness the Uluru sunrise then either an optional climb or base walk. Learn about Aboriginal Culture on an interpretive walk and visit the Culture Centre before driving to Kings Canyon. Try a helicopter flight over the spectacular Canyon (at own expense) before sampling traditional camp-oven cooking and another night of swagging under the stars (or dome tent) at our camp near Kings Canyon. Day 3: Kings Canyon
Spend the morning hiking and climbing Kings Canyon, checking out the ‘Amphitheatre’, breathtaking North & South Walls and 'Garden of Eden'. After lunch, we make our way back to Alice Springs. (BL). Overnight accommodation is not included.

Day 5 - Alice Springs to Banka Banka
We cross the Tropic of Capricorn then pull over at Ti Tree for the opportunity to purchase authentic Aboriginal art. Next stop is the Barrow Creek Pub where we view the historic Telegraph Station. Further 'up the track' we explore the Devils Marbles; precariously balanced granite boulders sacred to the traditional owners, before arriving at Banka Banka Cattle Station where we camp overnight. Weather permitting - take a dip in the picturesque waterhole. (LD)
  Day 6 - Banka Banka to Katherine Gorge
We head further north to the famous outback pub at Daly Waters, the oldest pub in the Northern Territory and first international airport in Australia! After lunch we travel to Mataranka to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the crystal clear thermal springs. Late afternoon we travel towards the magnificent Katherine Gorge for our overnight camp. (BLD)

Day 7 - Katherine Gorge to Darwin


Spend half a day canoeing or cruising (at own expense) the spectacular gorge. There is also the chance for a scenic helicopter flight (at own expense) to appreciate the vastness of the gorge system. After lunch we head into Darwin via Edith Falls and Adelaide River. (BL) Overnight accommodation is not included.
  Day 8 - Darwin to Mary River & Kakadu National Park
We travel to the pristine Mary River Wetlands, home to the highest concentration of salt-water crocodiles in the Southern Hemisphere, to enjoy a croc and wildlife cruise, then we 4WD along the Old Darwin Road stopping at the huge termite mounds and scenic White Lily Billabong. After lunch, we continue through more beautiful wetland areas to Barramundi Gorge (Maguk), where we do some hiking and enjoy a refreshing dip in the plunge pools. We enjoy the sensational tropical sunset before heading for our overnight bush camp in Kakadu. Day 9 - Kakadu National Park
It’s an early start to travel to Twin Falls where we join a National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience up the stunning gorge to the waterfall where you can relax on the sandy bank. Then we travel to the awesome Jim Jim Falls, deep within escarpment country, and tackle the challenging climb to the top of the falls (seasonal) enjoying fantastic views over Kakadu. We continue on to our overnight bush camp in Kakadu for a well-earned night’s sleep! (BLD)

  Day 10 - Kakadu to Darwin
We walk to Nanguluwur art site before heading to Ubirr, an area rich in Aboriginal history with vivid rock art dating back over 20,000 years. We call in at beautiful Annaburoo Billabong for one last swim before returning to Darwin. Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), hat & sunscreen, towel & toiletries, warm clothing in winter, water bottle, torch, insect repellent, camera & film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired for $15)
